This part is located near the pilot burner. The pilot burner works with the pilot assembly to ensure that the fuel is ignited efficiently. When the appliance is turned on the gas valve allows the gas into the burner and the pilot burner, a flame inside the appliance is needed to start the combustion of the gas which is coming into the burner .
